At my baby shower I was lucky enough to receive lots of different diapers, giving me a chance to "try before you buy" so to speak. One of the diapers I received was a giant box of the Huggies Pure and Natural Diapers. I'm a fairly Earth conscience person, so these really appealed to me and in my naivety I thought for sure a box that big would last me for at least a month (Ha!). So I put on diaper #1 and.....it doesn't fit. I gave birth to a 8 pound 21.5'' baby, so not a little guy, but the diapers were to big. Now I don't know about you but I want my newborn size diapers to fit my newborn, call me crazy. The waist was big and the leg holes even bigger, leading to some major leaks. I tried them again a week or so later when he had gained a big more weight, and while they fit that time they still leaked like crazy.
All newborn diapers typically have a little cut out in the front so the top doesn't rub against the umbilical cord stump. These diapers had the biggest cut out of any brand I tried, the dip went down almost to my little boy's bits. So literally every time he urinated it would come leaking out the top. They might work ok if you had a little girl, but for boys they are completely useless. And if your baby has skinny legs the urine will drip right out, I can't tell you how many times I changed his whole outfit because of a leak only to find that his diaper was completely dry.
I would not recommend this particular style of Huggies to anyone, they just ended up being a waste of money and time. There are better brands out there for newborn diapers for about the same price, some of which I loved and when I had to buy diapers that's what I bought. But more about those diapers later.

3 months of bliss, stress, and sleep deprivation
3 months ago (on my birthday to be specific) I gave birth to a healthy baby boy and our lives have been a roller coaster ever since! My little bug is the light of my life, and watching my husband with our son is the best. And the stories we have already are amazing! I'm constantly whipping out my phone to show off a picture or video to a friend. So after some prompting from my husband I decided to start a blog about being a parent. It'll give me a place to vent on bad days, beam on good days, and share reviews on the millions of baby products we seem to use everyday. Stay tuned for future post and I hope you enjoy!
